Course Description
The Ultrasonic Time of Flight Diffraction (TOFD) level II course provides the knowledge required to operate equipment and perform manual and encoded TOFD application on welds. The course covers theoretical aspects on TOFD application, advantages, limitations and application of TOFD as per various codes and standards. The course also covers in depth practical aspects for application of TOFD on welds in Pipes & Plates using required accessories such as calibration blocks, encoders, scanners etc. The course structure is compiled based on ASNT – SNTC-1A

Prerequisite
For ASNT Level II examination in TOFD, the candidates shall have ASNT UT Level II in at least one weld category or UT Level II as per ISO 9712. For candidates who do not meet the prerequisite for ASNT Level II examination in TOFD, they can attend employer based qualification (employer’s written practice shall be submitted prior to commencement of the course).

8 days of training (80 hours) and 1 day examination

Technicians, Inspectors, QA / QC Engineers and Managers, Design Engineers, personnel involved in witnessing TOFD etc.
Certification – (ASNT ) Level II certificate will be issued by Modfield upon successful completion of examination based on employer’s written practice.
Course Equipment and Materials – We provide training material, equipment & probes, calibration blocks and sample specimens for practical training.
